Pupil Premium at Saint Ambrose Barlow
At Saint Ambrose Barlow, our mission is to ensure that every child—regardless of their socio-economic background—has the opportunity to “live life to the full.” The Pupil Premium is a government grant to help us support disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap.
How we use the funding: We allocate this funding to three key areas:
- High-Quality Teaching: Ensuring our classrooms are equipped with the best resources and trained staff.
- Targeted Academic Support: Using the Insight platform to identify specific learning gaps and providing small-group interventions.
- Wider Strategies: Supporting attendance, well-being, and access to extracurricular activities.
Mr Doherty and our Lead Governor for Pupil Premium rigorously monitor the impact of this spend. We use Insight to compare the progress of Pupil Premium learners against their peers, ensuring that every penny is used to improve outcomes.
